If you are arriving by private jet or plane, Croatia is closer than you think

A private jet or a plane is an ideal option for arriving at your yacht Croatian charter destination. There are no stressful check-ins, long waiting, or luggage problems and your vessel will be berthed so close,  you will be able to see it from the air. All Croatian coastal airports are just 10 minutes from all major yacht ports, so there is no need for long transits.

Travelling to Croatia with Commercial flights

If you are coming from London, Paris or Amsterdam, you will be in Croatia in less than 2 hours, meaning you can be on the deck of your yacht charter in about 2 hours. Croatia has 6 coastal airports – Split, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Pula, Rijeka, and Brač, with another one being located in the capital city of Zagreb.

Zagreb airport was named as the Best Airport by Size and Region in Europe by Airport Service Quality Awards, welcoming between 2 and 5 million passengers during 2019.

Croatian airports are extremely well-connected with all European capital cities and beyond. In Croatia`s friendly skies, expect to see the wings of companies such as Ryanair, Eurowings, Volotea, Easyjet, Lauda. There are also Austrian Airlines, Transavia, TUI fly Belgium, airBaltic, Jet2, LOT Polish Airlines, SAS, Swiss,…

Also available are direct flights from North America – New York to Dubrovnik with United Airlines and Delta and Toronto to Zagreb with Air Canada Rouge.

Croatia`s roads are excellent, and if you are coming from Europe, travelling to Croatia by car will be a pleasant journey. Right after the border crossing, you will be driving next to a beautiful landscape without traffic jams. Play your favourite songs and be excited about going on a yacht charter – the safest vacation in 2022. Lastly, your car can be parked safely in all Croatian marinas; your local SuperYachts Croatia broker will take care of parking reservations.

Here are some tips that are important if you are coming by car:

1. You will need a “green card” – verification of insurance – to reach Croatia by car.
2. Do not drink and drive! In Croatia, the permitted blood alcohol level is 0.5%.
3. The price of fuel is around 12 Croatian kunas/litre (around 1,8€ or 2,0$).
4. The toll from Zagreb to Zadar is 121kn (around 15 € or 19$) and from Zagreb to Rijeka is 70kn (around 9 € or 11$). (10/06/2021)

Furthermore, if you are coming:

Because of Croatia’s unique geography, getting around the country can be problematic and sometimes requires careful planning, but there will be no borders if you are travelling to Croatia by boat. Remember, a yacht charter is the best option to explore Croatia.

Borders and customs are not complicated for yacht charter guests

Croatia is a tourist country and every year more than 20 million people visit. When you are our yacht charter guest, you will enjoy full VIP treatment from start to finish; there will be no waiting on the border and customs for you. Croatia became part of the EU in 2013, but it is still not part of the ,,Schengen” zone. It has a border with Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

If you are travelling to Croatia from EU member countries, you can enter Croatia with just a personal ID. However, all other foreign nationals (anyone from outside the EU) need a valid passport to enter Croatia. Customs regulations are the same as in the EU and usually, it is not a big deal in comparison with Australia or the USA. There are almost no cases of unpleasant experiences between tourists and customs because Croatia is a very tolerant country and Croatian customs officers are full of understanding for people from all over the world, especially to yacht charter guests. Although, there are some items on the forbidden list, like guns, meat, eggs and associated products.

When you are travelling to Croatia, first check how many tobacco and alcoholic products can bring in:

If you decide to bring more than the above you will have to declare it and pay or leave it at the border.
In addition, your local broker – Superyachts Croatia, will take care of every additional problem,  so you can enjoy your superyacht vacation to the fullest.

Visas are not required for all EU countries

For tourist visits lasting less than 90 days, citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore do not need visas. For stays of more than 90 days, a visa is required which should be obtained in advance. You can enter Croatia without a Croatian visa if you have a Schengen visa.

You can always contact Superyacht Croatia for more information, and we will assist you in obtaining the visa. You may also go to the website of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. You should fill out an online visa application (in a variety of languages) and review the status of your application if you’ve already submitted one.
