FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW
Inspected by Us.
With a very modern and stylish superstructure, LUKAS yacht charter is the perfect choice for those guests who know exactly what they want out of their holiday in Croatia. A rich itinerary is mandatory when cruising on LUKAS, as this yacht can easily develop cruising speeds that exceed 20 knots, with her max speeds nearing 30 knots.
These speeds do not surprise, considering the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into producing LUKAS yacht charter in the Filippetti shipyard. Built in 2007, with her last refit instance in 2020, LUKAS yacht charter is a testament to the expertise of her naval architect, Fausto Filippetti.
She can take in a total of 8 guests, which will be under the care of 3 crew members – the captain, the stewardess and the chef. LUKAS yacht charter manages to incorporate a total of 4 guest cabins, consisting of a master cabin, a VIP cabin, and two twin cabins, one of which can be converted into a double cabin.
This adds options for charter guests looking for versatility when choosing sleeping arrangements, meaning LUKAS yacht charter is equally suited for a family charter holiday or a gathering of close friends, seeking adventures.
Her somewhat shallower draft allows LUKAS to access bays and capes that are otherwise unreachable to bigger vessels. This means that many doors that otherwise remain closed for guests travelling on bigger yachts will be open to you and your charter party.
A DAY ON THE YACHT
Chartering a yacht in the Croatian Adriatic sea brings with it many advantages. For one, you will be able to enjoy one of the last unpolluted bodies of water in the Mediterranean, with countless specimens of underwater flora and fauna testifying to the cleanliness of the water. But there are also many other things to consider when booking a yacht in Croatia.
For instance, the home port of your journey must be chosen to accommodate the goals of your itinerary. Do you want to island hop? Or relax in one spot and take in the glorious nature in form of secluded islands and private beaches? Or, maybe a little bit of both is something that is best for your first time in Croatia. For that reason, book LUKAS yacht charter with SuperYachts Croatia, because this vessel can accommodate a wide variety of different holiday needs.
Choose Split as your home port, for this coastal city is the second-largest settlement in Croatia and a port with more than 2 millennia of history behind its mighty stone walls. Split was used as a harbour many centuries before the Romans arrived, but the emperor Diocletian was the one who put Split on the map, by building his summer palace on this location. Today, Diocletian`s Palace is protected by UNESCO and is one of the main hallmarks of Split.
During the summer, swarms of tourists flock to Split, to observe the Palace, as well as many other fascinating archaeological remains. But, charter guests usually get fed up with tourist hordes on the mainland pretty fast, and to this avail, escaping to a nearby island by using the mobility of LUKAS yacht charter always seems like an excellent idea. Between many islands in the vicinity of Split, one stands out as a perfect candidate for the start of your yachting holiday in Croatia; the island of Brač.
While you cruise towards this marvellous holiday location, you might want to relax on the flybridge with a cocktail in your hand, while observing the shifting panorama until you reach your destination.
Brač island sees fewer tourists during the summer season than the neighbouring islands of Hvar or Korčula, despite its close proximity to Split. This means that you will be left to your own devices after you arrive; if you so desire, there are countless quiet bays and private coves, where you will be able to find peace and solitude, thanks to the mobility of your yacht charter.
Brač has a fascinating history, reaching the Neolithic period, so have your local crew tell you all about it while cruising along the shoreline of the island. Once near Brač island, guests usually prefer to settle in a quiet bay and enjoy lunch while being surrounded by crystal-clear sea and pristine Adriatic nature.
Start your lunch with scallops served with avocado and basil, drizzled with pomegranate vinegarette. Follow the scallops with a pan-seared Cod served with a beetroot purée, sprinkled with local Croatian olive oil, garlic and parsley and finish with passion fruit tartlets with hot caramel syrup for dessert.
In the afternoon, once you have sufficiently recuperated from lunch, you may want to go on an in-land excursion and discover all the secrets of Brač. The highest peak on Brač is Vidova Gora, measuring 778 above sea level. It is the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands and is definitely worth the climb, because the reward from the top is incredible.
Also, you can reach the peak using cars, buggies, dirt bikes or e-bikes, and once at the summit, you will be treated with some of the most breath-taking panoramas in the entire Adriatic. Also, there is an endemic species of pine growing near Vidova Gora, attesting to the pristineness of Croatian nature.
While hiking and enjoying the fresh sea air, you may also want to visit the Blača Hermitage, a small monastery from the 16th century, built into the cliffs of Vidova Gora by priests who fled from the Turkish advances carried out on the Croatian mainland.
The sight of this amazing construction built into sheer rock is amazing and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy natural and fascinating architecture. On the other hand, if you want to relax by the sea and leave the inland exploration for another day, Brač has numerous beautiful beaches, and LUKAS yacht charter will provide the perfect means for enjoying the full potential of beaches on Brač island.
Alternatively, LUKAS yacht charter can cruise along the coastline of Brač until reaching one of the most famous and picturesque beaches in the entire Croatian Adriatic sea and beyond, the Zlatni Rat or Golden Horn beach.
Often placed on the list of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Zlatni Rat beach is covered with sand and tiny pebbles, its triangular shape changing form with the direction of the current. This place is also popular with the windsurfing crowd, because of the favourable and constant winds that are prevalent here.
Other beaches include the shoreline around Milna harbour, where there are plenty of pebble and sand beaches, connected with dirt pathways with the town centre and the charming interior.
Lovrenčina beach offers silence and peace that can only be equal to the beauty of this beautiful sandy beach. Located in a bay, it is surrounded by a lush green forest and is perfect for families with children, due to the shallowness and warmth of the water.
Once you are done touring the best beaches around Brač island, return aboard LUKAS yacht charter, just as the last rays of sunlight hit the shimmering surface of the sea. In the evening, experience the other side of Brač island, with many different enticing factors, especially the traditional cuisine of the island.
When it comes to wining and dining on Brač, this island will surprise you with its magnificent offer of different and varied dishes, including aromatic cheeses, excellent wines, terrific meats and the freshest seafood, directly from the clean Croatian Adriatic sea.
There are several options for dining on Brač – you can enjoy supper on the alfresco deck of LUKAS yacht charter, berthed in one of several marinas in Brač and people-watch as you enjoy fabulous dishes.
Alternatively, you can dine on land in an exclusive restaurant, or disregard civilization entirely and find a secluded piece of shoreline, where you will be able to enjoy your dinner under the light of the stars.
Whichever option you choose, you may want to start with a classic lentil soup, with lemon juice and freshly-baked pitta bread and continue with a grilled beef tenderloin with a lemon caper sauce and a carrot purée. For dessert, enjoy a strawberry mousse on chocolate-chip vanilla ice cream.
Finishing the last bites of your fantastic yacht supper, you may come to a sudden and pleasant realization; there is no doubt that the rest of your Croatian yacht holiday will get better with each passing day.
YACHT CHARTER DINING
Since you will find yourself cruising the waters of central Dalmatia with LUKAS yacht charter, it is not irregular to expect to sample the wonderful delicacies found on Brač island. It would be a shame to disregard new culinary experiences, especially those that bring such mouth-watering delight to all travellers that sample traditional Brač cuisine.
Your taste buds will be treated to a sensational extravaganza, with every natural ingredient and freshly prepared seafood dish that enters into your gastronomic domain. Taste dishes like an asparagus salad with charred artichoke, followed by exquisite lamb from Brač island, seasoned with arugula and ginger sesame dressing, and sided with aged Pag cheese and a chocolate-chocolate cake for dessert.
Brač island is synonymous with its excellent sheep cheese, olive oil, and aromatic lamb meat. Add to that a strong tradition of cultivating grapes, and you can look forward to some terrific wines as well. Seafood stews and risottos, lamb dishes and authentic desserts will help you remember Brač, long after your vacation in Croatia is over.
Because LUKAS yacht charter has a designated chef, you and your charter party will know how it is to taste dishes like zucchini and pea soup with crème fraiche, followed by locally caught and fresh Adriatic tuna made with steam-cooked vegetables and a teriyaki sauce. For dessert, enjoy a hand-made apple strudel, according to traditional Croatian recipes.
YACHT MAIN DECK
From the outside, everything seems to be modular and convertible, serving several functions at once, meaning LUKAS yacht charter packs the same kinds of amenities as yachts of 30 meters and more
Modern angular lines of the superstructure complement the wave-like profile of the hull aboard LUKAS yacht charter. This amplifies the impression that LUKAS is a flexible yacht, capable of great speeds and a busy charter itinerary, as well as island-hopping through the most beautiful places in Croatia.
It is best to start the tour of this yacht from the main deck aft, where potential clients are greeted by a stern-placed sofa bench, with an alfresco dining table and several movable chairs. This area will be your go-to location for outdoor dining experiences.
There are a pair of stairs leading to the swimming platform and a starboard side staircase leading to the flybridge. But the main deck on LUKAS is also a walk-around, meaning guests can reach all the way to the sun lounge on the bow of the main deck.
With a C-shaped dinette, encircling a coffee table, this is the perfect spot for breakfast, enjoying the most important meal of the day with stunning panoramas of the Croatian Adriatic sea. Returning back to the main deck aft, guests can now enter the interior salon.
Yacht charter accommodation: main salon & dining area
Right off the starboard side, guests can sit and put their feet up on the L-shaped sofa. With an addition of an extra armchair and a coffee table, this is the preferred area for guests to enjoy each other`s company while drinking cocktails or just resting in an air-conditioned environment.
Opposite the lounge is some hip-high cabinetry and a flat-screen TV, allowing guests a chance to watch their favourite show or movie, using the rich AV library aboard LUKAS yacht charter.
Following the starboard side, guests arrive at the main deck galley. The positioning of the galley corresponds perfectly with the nearby oval dining table on the port side, making food preparation and serving a very efficient and easy task for the crew.
Finally, the starboard-placed interior helm station has a pair of very comfortable seats, for the captain and one lucky member of the charter party to enjoy the cruise and chat with the captain as he manoeuvres the yacht.
Talking about the design of the interior salon aboard LUKAS yacht charter, the first thing that must not be overlooked is the pleasant and inviting atmosphere created by using neutral and warm colours.
The smart and aesthetically-pleasing design of the salon is accentuated with sophisticated finishes and subtle, but stylish details, alongside plenty of natural light, due to big windows on both sides of the salon. All of this offers comfort on an exceptional level, to every guest aboard LUKAS.
YACHT FLYBRIDGE
The stern of the flybridge is used to carry the tender and the jet ski, while LUKAS yacht charter is underway. Once these toys are launched with the help of the nearby hydraulic crane, this area can be used to enjoy an incredible aft panorama, as well as for some relaxing yoga asana or strength exercises.
The centre of the flybridge is occupied by an L-shaped sofa, alongside a modular coffee table. This arrangement can be used as an improvised second alfresco dining option on LUKAS yacht charter, but its primary purpose is to provide a stage for charter guests to enjoy the incredible surroundings of the Croatian Adriatic, alongside excellent service provided by the crew aboard LUKAS.
Finally, there is an exterior helm station placed to starboard, with a wide sunbed to port, which helps guests with their tan, while also having the ability to observe the ever-changing profile of the coastline while LUKAS is underway.
YACHT LOWER DECK
The guests’ accommodation located on the lower deck of LUKAS yacht charter consists of 4 cabins in total, comprised of a master cabin, a VIP cabin and two twin cabins.
Yacht Charter Accommodation: master cabin
The full beam master cabin aboard LUKAS yacht charter is decorated in the same fashion as the rest of the yacht i.e. light wood carpentry and cabinetry, infused with smooth mirror surfaces and contemporary furniture. There are 3 long portholes, both to port and to starboard, with a vanity table placed underneath the portside portholes.
Also, there is a spacious walk-in closet to port, allowing guests to store all their holiday attire and keep the cabin tidy at all times. The ensuite in the master is disproportionally big, considering the overall length of LUKAS yacht charter, offering the biggest shower cabin aboard, alongside a sink, a bidet and a head.
Yacht Charter Accommodation: VIP cabin
Located in the bow, the VIP cabin will charm guests with its snug layout and smart use of cabinetry. There are portholes on both sides of the cabin, guaranteeing plenty of daylight, that bounces off the wooden surfaces and a big mirror, located above the queen-sized berth headspace.
A flat-screen TV is placed right in front of the berth, so guests could watch their favourite series or movie, from the comfort of their berth.
Yacht Charter Accommodation: Twin cabin
There are two twin cabins placed parallel one to another, located amidship on the lower deck on LUKAS yacht charter. The portside twin cabin can be converted into a double cabin, while the starboard twin cabin remains fixed in its layout. This type of cabin arrangement allows guests more flexibility when choosing accommodations because it can be adapted to a variety of different configurations, equally serving a family charter vacation or a friend`s gathering.
The décor features the same stylistic choices present throughout LUKAS yacht charter; wooden cabinetry and panels, featuring warm and light colours, alongside plenty of sunshine during the day. Both the twins are also equipped with a standard-size closet, and an ensuite bathroom, featuring a shower cabin, a bidet, a sink and a head.
YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM
The swimming platform aboard LUKAS is disproportionally big when compared to the length of LUKAS yacht charter. Also, the platform is used to carry the jet ski while LUKAS yacht charter is underway. Once at anchor, the crew will launch the jet ski and free up a huge amount of space, for the enjoyment of guests.
Soak your feet while admiring the Adriatic panorama from an interesting viewpoint. You might also enjoy sitting on the swimming platform like it was your own waterside porch and drinking a refreshing cocktail. Once you get out of the water, you can also use the freshwater shower, smartly integrated into the lower deck architecture, to rinse off any leftover salt before heading inside.
YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS
The water toy collection aboard LUKAS yacht charter is something every guest will be looking forward to on their holiday. Each toy has some unique characteristics, which means a wide spectrum of guests will find something they will enjoy experiencing, starting with the Seadoo jetski which is a guest favourite.
This neat contraption will allow up to two riders to race with the waves or explore the indented coastline of Croatian islands in swiftness, style and safety. You can also let a member of your crew take you for a ride, while you enjoy this exhilarating experience.
The Zodiac tender will tow a number of inflatable or towable toys, the first being the top pick for any child on vacation – the inflatable donut. Bouncing on waves has never been more fun or safe, especially with your diligent charter crew keeping an eye out for your child, so you can relax and sunbathe in comfort. There are also waterskis and wakeboards, which will provide more of a challenge to guests up for learning a new skill on their holiday.
Finally, the most versatile of all water toys, the stand-up paddleboard, can be combined with snorkeling or fishing gear to offer a truly versatile approach of having fun on the water. You can lay flat on your stomach and enjoy the view of the seafloor. Thanks to the snorkeling gear, you could also spot a good place for fishing; with a bit of luck, you could catch a fish for dinner, which your chef will gladly prepare with a Michelin twist.
