Ferretti Costume Line`s history

Ferretti Group was founded in Italy in 1968, with the purpose of constructing and selling luxury motor yachts. Since their humble beginnings, the Ferretti group has acquired many brands, like Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft and CRN

Ferretti Group also started an in-house brand, known as Ferretti Costume line, which was established in 1996; back then, it was still known as Custom Line S.p.A. Ferretti Costume Line presented its first yacht, which was a Costume Line 94` series that measured 28.8 meters, in Cannes in 1998, and the rest was history.

Since Costume Line specializes in yachts ranging from 26 to 38 meters, it can afford a unique approach to yacht building; mainly trying to apply the concept of swift and step-by-step industrial production to the creation and construction of luxury yachts.

For potential clients, this means that every build will be completed on schedule, without any delays.

From the beginning, Costume Line formed a strong collaboration with Zuccon International Project design studio with their earlier models, until the launch of the Costume Line 120` in 2018. This time, Francesco Paszkowski Design was the one responsible for the interior design, followed by Filippo Salvetti , who worked with the Navetta 30 line in 2020.

For the entire duration of its history, Ferretti Costume Line made stable progress by launching new models and a series of their yachts. These were always presented at prestigious yacht shows and have subsequently won many awards for innovative exterior design or luxurious and practical interior décor.

Type of Ferretti Costume Line yachts

Ferretti Costume Line has a standing fleet of over 300 yachts, scattered across all the world`s oceans. Because Costume Line has specialized in producing very narrow categories of yachts (from 20-30 meters and from 30-40 meters), it is easy to catalogue them.

The Ferretti Costume Line production can be divided into two main categories, classified according to the ability and shape of their hull. The first one is characterised by yachts built with a planing hull, while the other is constructed with a semi-displacement hull.

The displacement line is made out of the Navetta 30, Navetta 33, Navetta 37 and Navetta 42, while the planning line includes the Costume Line 106, Costume Line 120 and the new Costume Line 140.

Navetta 26

With a length of 26 meters, the Navetta 26 has 2 different interior layouts, sporting 4 or 5 cabins. Designed by Zuccon International Project and Ferretti’s In-house team, the Navetta 26 was awarded the Millennium Yacht Design Award in 2008 , for the design of the yacht, particularly regarding innovation, the exterior architecture and the interior layout.

Navetta 30

The basis for Navetta 30 is the foundations of displacement yachts in the Ferretti Costume Line shipyard. This model was the first project designed by Filippo Salvetti with interiors by architecture and design firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. The first Navetta 30 saw her maiden voyage in 2020, with two of her sisterships landing in the water in the summer of 2021.

Navetta 33

Also unveiled in Cannes in 2008, this semi-displacement yacht is 33 meters long and 7 meters wide, with a top speed of 19 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. This type is constructed in the Ancona shipyard, with two different versions of the main deck layout.

Navetta 37

The Navetta 37 is one of the flagships of Costume Line`s semi-displacement fleet, being big in scale and rich with amenities. The extraordinary build of the series guarantees total satisfaction and comfort to guests.

The Navetta 37 is 37 metres long with a beam length of 8 metres, and an exterior design that communicates stability and agility. A novel feature that the Navetta 37 wholeheartedly incorporates is the innovative sound insulating solutions, which minimize noise and vibrations from the engines, generators and other working machinery.

Navetta 42

The largest yacht made by the Ferretti Costume Line, the 41.9-meter Navetta 42 serves as an “unofficial” flagship of the entire shipyard. She was launched at the 2018 Monaco Yacht show, with several different layout settings (including ones that incorporate 4 VIP cabins or 5 “regular” cabins). With a wide beam and four decks, the Navetta 42 captured the attention and imagination of onlookers since her launch.

One of the newer models of the line, the Costume Line 106 is designed by Francesco Paszkowski, a prominent Milan-based naval architect, who closely collaborated with the Ferretti Group engineers and architects. The product of their labour really is extraordinary; the Costume Line 106 is an elegant and stylish vessel, with all the hallmarks of contemporary Italian naval design.

Costume Line 112 Next

The name of this line derives from the fact that her length is 34 meters, which roughly translates to 112 feet. Unveiled at Cannes in 2008, the Next is a direct successor of the Costume Line 112. Measuring 34 meters in length, Next is a planning yacht made from composite materials. This yacht can achieve top speeds of up to 26 knots – an incredible result.

Costume Line 120

Unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in 2016, the Costume Line 120 is the flag carrier of the new era of Ferretti Costume Line yachts. This planning superyacht was built thanks to the collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski Design and was launched in 2018, at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

As a result of new investments that came into the Custom Line Projects, the Costume Line 120 promised to upgrade all the features that yacht connoisseurs came to know and appreciate with FCL-made yachts.

Costume Line 140

With a length of 42.61 meters, Costume Line 140 is a result of a close collaboration between FCL and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, to create a yacht characterised by a sporty exterior with elegant edges and smooth lines, integrated with dark plate glass and reflective superstructure surfaces.
